There are various groups of meal and products that can represent certain risk to have cancer. They are classified by groups from group 1 to group 4, from the most carcinogenic to the less.

  • From Group 1: that type of food that is considered risky to have cancer (carcinogenic).

  • To Group 4: type of food is probably not carcinogenic for human being.

Recent trials reveal that regular red meat consumption can provoke certain type of cancer such as colon, pancreas and prostate cancer.

The agency in charge of these studies is the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), which is testing constantly different compounds, herbs and products to detect possible health risks for human health, concretely those that directly and indirectly have a link to cancer.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has come to the conclusion that there is a link between red meat and certain type of cancer (colon, pancreas and prostate cancer), and it is a question of public health, so that the WHO recommends to limit the consumption of this type of meat to prevent serious health problems.

Nevertheless, both entities are aware of the nutritional contribution of this type of food, and they give to the Health Authorities of each government all the information possible about the matter and how to apply control measures to the industry.

Our recommendation is to reduce the consumption of red meat as far as possible, and in case of consuming this type of meat; it has to be the highest quality possible and not on regular basis. It is more recommended to consume fish, vegetables, fruit, cereal and other natural food which have a greater value for human health.
